JK new gearbox oil vs 286,000 gearbox oil G'day again folks
Just thought I'd post a pic of my manual transmission oil that I just replaced on my 2008 JK CRD. L is new right is 286k km old. https://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum...de13c95177.jpg My manual indicates that you never have to replace the transmission oil... but I beg to differ looking at what came out and the magnet. https://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum...de1a50c5d5.jpg Kiteman |
What oil did you put in?

The only recommended oil you should use apparently.. VERY hard to get hold of in Australia.. whereas in the US ..it practically comes out of the tap!. |

I got the two I put in from the states for about $160AU all up including delivery but not sure I will find that bargain again hahaha... |
Jeeezzz thats expensive
Got the Mopar oil from my local dealers here in England for £7.50 ($13 aust ) They said they never use it as most Wranglers they get in are autos, Got 4 bottles in the garage now (just rechecked) and change it every 2 years or so on my 2007 built 2.8CRD The dealership changed hands couple of years back and the rest of the stock was sent to another in my area as the new owners didn't want it. Think I'll go on the 'hunt' and see if I can grab some more :) Don't suppose you're on the same clutch after that many KM's / miles ? |
I am running Nulon ATF Multi Vehicle Automatic Transmission Fluid on 09 CRD and have no problems.
