Power Steering Level Low
 

Hi, have recently noticed that the my power steering fluid in the reservoir was showing on the Low level indicator. Showed the dealer just before the 30K service and had to pay for a small bottle of fluid and they topped it up with no real explanation as to why this should be occurring. Went in for its 30K service a few weeks later and asked them to check it out and they came back saying they could find no leaks and the levels were fine. Though a few weeks later I have noticed that the level is slowly reducing again?
Anyone experienced this before?

I did notice mine was down a bit so topped it up, I'll have to have another look to see if it's dropped again

I had to top up mine too, with no leaks apparent.
Have heard (rarely) a strange noise while turning so could be something going on.

Power Steering Level Low
 

Depending on the model the power steering requires very specific hydraulic fluid and not generic power steering fluid. Pentosin CHF 11S is recommended, or fluid meeting Chrysler MS-11655.

Penrite claims LDAS can be used instead of Pentosin, but does not specifically state it meets Chrysler MS-11655

From the Penrite website:

"LDAS is recommended for the service re-fill or top-up of the power steering and suspension systems in many late model European manufactured prestige vehicles.

LDAS is coloured green and can be used as a direct replacement for OEM LDS fluids or it is a ready replacement for OEM Pentosin CHF 11S and can also be used as a replacement for LHM+ type fluids creating less inventory for workshops."

*CAUTION: There is an Electric Power Steering (EPS) pump available on later build 2011 3.6L vehicles which require a different fluid (early build 2011 3.6L vehicles have a mechanical pump). Do not mix power steering fluid types. Damage may result to the power steering pump and system if any other fluid is used. The mechanical power steering pump systems on this vehicle require the use of Power Steering Fluid +4, which meets material specification MS-9602 or equivalent. The EPS pump system uses fluid which meets material specification MS-11655 or equivalent. Do not overfill.

I also noticed low PS fluid levels and the dealer topped it up at no charge for me. They explained that the GC uses a fair bit of PS fluid (reason unknown). Being a electrical/hydraulic system you would think it would use less fluid but no - usage is higher than on straight hydraulic systems.
