08 JK Jumping out of 1st gear
 

Hey Guys I just wondering if anyone could recommend a decent gearbox shop between Brisbane & Toowoomba....

We took our 08 JK to Brisbane City Jeep today to get a couple of recalls done and while it was there my partner told them about it jumping out of 1st gear...

They replied in the notes that they checked it and found it to have an internal fault in the gearbox and would need to remove it, strip it down and quote to repair or they could fit a second hand gearbox for $2905 plus $825 labour

Thats a bit rich Im thinking, but I could be wrong??

If you Google Jeep JK 1st gear problems you will find many other JK owners have had a similar or same problem I presume it is a manual. I also seem to recall that one owner found it was the gear lever boot not letting the gearbox shift into 1st correctly.
