Filters, non genuine

Hi Brains Trust. Our Mechanic is retiring and he has serviced our diesel 2012 from new. I want to start doing services myself (trust issues). Mechanic has always used the Mopar filters but they are pricey.

Anyone used

Its a Built Dec 12, MY13, compliance Feb 13 5 spd auto, so assume I'm looking for filers to suit 2012

Ive never heard of Sakura oil filters, so again trust issues as to whether they will actually filter ! Been a few years since I've serviced my own cars.

Any other suggestions ?

Any tips on searching forum for this? I tried using but it seemed to take me to a lot of other stuff on the net, rather than the forum. Read about the first 10 pages and their seemed to be an issue with Ryco filters changing on later models but not for mine - think.

As an aside, my MY13 is also a Dec 12 build with compliance Jan 13, and I always look for components to suit 2013. The MY13 builds commenced in Oct 12, so the car is the same as any built during the first half of 2013 up until commencement of the MY14. There's very little difference between MY12 & MY13, but it's just how I approach the never ending question of "is my car a 2012 or a 2013?".

Re. the filter, I still have mine serviced with genuine but I believe Wesfil do one to suit.

I have just ordered my filters from sparesbox.
Wesfil Oil filter, Wesfil Air filter
Ryco fuel filter, Ryco cabin filter.

Wesfil/Cooper are pretty good filters IMO, just be aware not all fuel filters ship with the bottom nut housing and being made of plastic, I don't like using them more than once.

This!

The Ryco fuel filters I used for one service didn't have the bottom nut, I stick to Wesfil now
