Market research for JK gear I reckon there is room for a new JK bull bar that is ADR compliant but cheaper than ARB but better quality than mopar.
I have a new one that is jsut about ready for testing Let me know if there is anything else I'm missing Price to be around $1100-$1200 features -ADR compliant -winch compatible -top hoop to protect radiator -upswept wings that meet up to flares -full width bar -mounts very high for maximum approach angle -high lift jacking points -integrated tow points that do not need to be removed for legal reasons -fits factory fog lights -has mounting points for driving lamps and radio areals What else would you want to see? |
Sounds like a well priced ARB bar so far!!
As long as it doesnt look to ugly sounds like a great idea |
I'd agree there's room for another bar option which ticks all the right boxes for use in Australia.
I wonder what the market is for folded aluminium with all these features would be like? Probably too expensive I guess. Australians do have a thing for buying cheap junk and passing it off as worthwhile due to price savings alone lol Shame as weight in the front end is a bit of an issue for a number of users. |
What is the weight?

Photos or never happened ^^

ok here is a pic
this is a CAD model of the bar, I'm about 3-4 weeks away from prototype. Very confident of passing airbag compliance. http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...ouringbar1.jpg |
I like the way the wings angle up. The smooth front and the tow hook integration looks clean.
Leaves plenty of options for extending the front end protection to underneath that soft metal steering box/pitman arm/swaybar protection offering crossmember too. Only suggestion with the swept back wings ala AEV/ARB would be to watch tyre clearance. Good on ya again for putting your neck out to design a bar and ensure it is compliant with local regulations. |
