Jeep/diff specialist recommendation Sydney
 

I have a 2001 XJ 4.0 that has a fairly loud whirring noise from the front that starts to become obvious at about 25km/h and increases in loudness with speed until about 90-100km/h when wind noise etc drowns it out.

I think it's something wrong with the front diff, but could be something simple like stuffed U-joints or wheel bearings. I've checked U-joints and wheel bearings and have looked at Youtube etc on how to diagnose the problem. It is not obvious to me what's wrong and while I want to fix it I don't want to just start replacing parts for the hell of it.

Can anyone recommend a diff or Jeep specialist in Sydney that I could take it to for a diagnosis?

Happy to pay them for their time to figure out what's wrong.

A diff specialist will charge you more to diagnose the issues than it will to buy the parts and fix it yourself. If it's the hubs, they are an easy fix, if it's the diff bearings, they are cheap on Rock Auto and not too hard to change yourself
