Replace RE superflex joints or replace RE control arms

The superflex joints in my rear lower RE control arms are pretty flogged out and are getting pretty sloppy - certainly beyond a pump of greese or a quick tighten up.

The arms have been in my Jeep for almost 12 years and have done some hard yards so I can't really complain but before I spend some money on replacing the joints, I wanted to reach out and see what arms peoples are favouring these days.

Hmmm I wa just about to ask same question on here.... goes to show how forums are dying now and fecesbook taking over I guess

What did you end up using ?

It's actually still sitting in my garage without the bushes replaced.

Double Black Offroad reckon that they can only supply polyurethane bushes for the rubber ends which I got but will refuse to put in as they are absolutely rock hard - they'd be great in a street car but terrible for the sort of driving that I use the TJ for.

I got a quote for 2 x refurb kits for the superflex joints from Northridge but by the time you factor in postage the joints were going to be over $150 each.

At this stage I've been hunting around to see if someone does custom arms that I could get genuine Patrol bushes in both ends as I reckon that will end up a similar price this time round and cheaper every other time they need replacing.

Let me know if you find any other options out there. My TJ won't pass rego with the amount of play in the bushes so I need it sorted before August.

I tried those hard poly bushes...they must be made from shore 90 poly or harder, ended up taking them out they felt (to me) like a solid joint and definitely reduced flex..

I was thinking patrol bushes, cut the RE poly off and replace it with patrol but can’t find the sleeve for the bush...

Just use Patrol rear uppers as lowers.
Same lenght as stock.
Space out with a washer either side.
Had them in my TJ for 5 years.
I just pick up second hand arms when the are up for $50 a pair

Great tip on the Patrol arms - wonder if something like this would work: https://www.superiorengineering.com....l4.2ltTD2000on

Like I said earlier, it would work out about the same price this time at $350 and then going forward you're only ever up for the cost of a standard partol rubber busing.

$700 for 4 bro.
I'm a thrifty Jeeper , second hand and carry a spare.
Just make sure they ate stock length , as the Poo's have oversized ones

All the micro niche groups on Facebook are killing forums. With that said, Ausjeep will hopefully be moving to a new server soon, the traffic we get now is no longer requiring a dedicated server as it once did.

We still have 17 years of database info so Facebook cannot compete with that.

Ya dam right, one of the Jeep FB pages I joined (by mistake) are more interested in angry grills and door gaps on wranglers etc...

FB will never replace Ausjeep knowledge

In saying that.... I did get some Nissan control arms today from FB...

recently did my re superflex bushed, jonny joints, tie rod ends and pitman arm.

i got it all through double black (pitman arm from wooders)

Thanks - I got some of the bushings from them but was reluctant to fit the polyurethane ones as they were harder than a bodybuilders abs and the ride with the original rubber bushes and 4” springs was bad enough.

I swapped in some OE arms to get through the rego inspection and am on the hunt for an alternative bushing supplier that can come up with something in rubber.
