Twisted rear Dana 44 axle

Has anyone ever twisted their rear Dana 44 32 spline axles. This is meant to be Chrome Molly steel. I had a small whirling noise that starts up at about 60 kph but it never gets louder as I go faster or changes it's sound under acceleration or deceleration. The noise started about 2 months so today I finally decided to take a look at the rear end and this is what I've found. I do a far bit of hard off roading BUT I don't spin the 5hit out of the wheels, I'm very careful and kind, well as much as I can be when off road.

I'm wondering if it is really Chrome Molly steel and maybe I should stick with the OEM Mopar axles instead.

What brand ?

One thing i know for an absolute fact is that the stock OEM axles are nothing special, soft and bend easily. The up side is that assuming they are just bent then they are easy to straighten.

I don't want to state the brand yet until I talk with the supplier and see if I can get some warranty claim on them. Also it's not bent axle but twisted. I have had OEM and aftermarket axle get bent flanges (the part that the wheel studs are bolted to) which many owners mistake for and call bent axles. I've never seen a bent axle yet but I have seen bent diff axles housing though.

Well good luck with your warranty claim...... doesn't hurt to ask but I can almost guess the reply :-(

As a bystander I can see the warranty issue from both sides and its difficult to establish just what happened and therefore who's problem it is.
