Cherokee -98 2.5TD stops/stalls

My Cherokee stalls during driving. It happens when I release the throttle quickly after holding 2000-2500 for a while (for instance when coasting into a stop sign, shifting gears). I can also reproduce this error standing still. throttle to 2500---wait 4-5sec---release throttle quicky. After it has stopped it starts easy as nothing has happend. No errorcodes.

So far I have:

Changed CPS(Crank Position Sensor)
Switched the ASD relay with another one

I know this has been discussed before but and I have read some posts about the same problem and I had hoped changing CPS was the magic solution :-)

It's your tps =p
Seldom shows a code, don't know much about diesel models, but I'll bet you
A brass razoo that's your issue =p
Have you recently gone wheeling?

No just normal driving. Is it located on the throttle pedal itself on the diesel version?

I had to check wikipedia about you expression "brass razzoo" :-)

Hahahaha, It's on the throttle body itself, the one that runs on the same pivot as the butterfly, I'll happily put some pics up if you need em :)

Have you changed fuel filter recent??

Also a run through with an injector cleaner will help.

Well it sorted mine when it was happening to me:cool:
