XJ: Kyle's Build

Pick this up about 2 Month's ago for $2500
It's my first jeep.

I'm gonna start doing some Mod's real soon. I did the sound system last month with all comp stuff, and removed the sway bars.

Mod List for this month:

3" Lift
33's or 35" big Horns if i can get them to fit
Bead Locks
Slider's
2" Wheel Spacers

nice start man, these things flex so well for stock. might have to get out the grinder for 35's though on a 3 inch lift.

Yeah that's the main reason i got her was for the Flex i just need to sort the rear out.

I'm gonna use the stock flares as a template to cut around and just hope they fit.

I should get the lift sometime this week

its a race then to see who lifts a truck first lol. What lift did you go with and who from?

Might be worthwhile getting some sway bar dissconect's from wooders, just got a set of JK disco's sent to me and they are some chunky looking kit. Under $300 delivered to QLD too so worth the $$$.

You wont fit 33' let alone 35's with only 2" of lift, even if you trim it to the maximum. The rear can only be trimmed so far as the door well gets in the way. You might squeeze 31's but you wont be able to disconnect the swaybar for flex with only 2" lift.

Even with 3" lift and 2" spacers, you will then open a whole new can of worms. At 5" essentially You will need adjustable track bar, adjustable control arms, drop boxes for the control arms, extended brake lines front and reae, SYE and shaft to name a few things.

Why not go 3" and Bushwacker flat fenders and run 32's with that.

Do some more reading, 35's will destory your rear diff in no time if you drive it even mildy hard to say nothing of the stock gearing being terrible for anything over 31's. As for fiting them with 3" lift, it ain't going to happen unless you sacrifice almost all of your uptravel and run some aftermarket or TJ flares. Plus there's all the things Jimmy mentioned. 33's and 35's mean a lot of work and a pretty decent hunk of cash as well. Oh and put the front swaybar back on and look at sway bar disconnects for when you take it offroad.

Cheers
Steve
