JK Mopar Factory Trailer wiring harness - anybody fitted?

As per title... has anyone fitted one of these:

I've got an aftermarket bar going on this week with a built in hitch receiver so i cannot run a factory tow bar. Yes it may not be to AUS std etc etc but i can guarentee its much stronger than a factory setup. The rear bar is tapped in several places & bolted to the frame work.

What i want to know is if the US kit will install easy enough without any modification or would i be better off getting an auto elec to do the job?

Some of the US Hitch Looms have long leads that you have to run under the car to connect up to the battery.
Some people have bought a loom off of Wooders and taken it to an autoelec to get the wires wired up correctly, this way it still looks OEM.
Your in Perth contact B & T Jeep sales they may have an OEM loom.

or just go to an auto electrician and ask him to wire it up and install a plug. this is basic bread and butter stuff for an auto sparky.it aint rocket science. he can supply all the bits required. i had an aftermarket tow bar fitted and the fitters supplied the parts and wired up the whole thing. if you're worried try parkside towbars as you're in perth. they would wire it up in about 15 mins.

The US looms are no good for Australia... they are set up to flash the brake light as the indicator and so are useless.

Getting to the factory socket is also a pita,,, its somewhere around the console apparently.

DBOR sells the complete wiring kit including JK specific instructions and worked for me. Took me about an hour total... most of which was deciding where i wanted the trailer socket :-)

Thanks guys, thank god for AJOR.... The clowns in the US told me things are no different. I'll give DBOR a call & sort something out. I know auto elecs could do it in no time but i dont like giving money away for something i can do myself. I"m a little more elec minded than mechanical so i'll do myself. Thanks again!!
