I love the colour and top marks for you for not jumping on the 'anti-bling' band wagon. Keep it tasteful though...:)

Cheers, no reason a jeep can't be tough and wearing the bling too :-)

Man I wish I had your budget! Very jealous of that part :)

Looking good - best part is you are making it yours...

Thanks Dave, judicious fiscal planning is all, I thought about it for a year before starting and then had another 4 months to wait for the delivery, plenty of time to plan, save , cajole, save, apply alternate reality theoretical costing probabilities to the missus, save and save some more, in fact I didn't do diddly squat for the last 18 months except eat, shit, sleep work and save. So I'm gonna do it my way and spend whatever I damn well can afford on it. :p

Not much progress, still waiting on my AEV hood and snorkel to turn up so did the mirror mod and fit the windscreen light brackets

Also did the the peanut butter trick on my mud stained guards, worked a treat

LOL. Mine was the exact opposite. Was umming and ahrring at what to replace my aging Subaru Forester with. It was coming up to 10 years old and had racked up 326,000km. Still ran like a dream and was in pristine condition, but I knew it was getting close to becoming a money pit. Had looked at new Foresters, new Tribeca's (loved the Subarus due to the longevity and comfort of them), even looked at the Mitsubishi Outlander.

One day driving home we passed a new JK and the missus says "wow I like that, I have always liked Jeeps, can we go have a look at them"?

Before she could change the subject I was already at the Dealers :)

We looked for about 10 minutes and she spotted a Dark Charcoal Pearl 2 door and fell in love with it. Took it for a test drive, put a deposit on it and picked it up 5 days later! Had to sell the Subi privately though, as after much negotiating the best offer I get from them was $1800 due to the km on it (first offer was $1200). Sold it for $6,200 privately and have been scrimping and saving ever since for new bits for the JK :)

Keep up the good work

Oh, and once you get the mud stains out of the guards and soft top - my recommendation is to hit them with some Turtle Wax Liquid Polish. Its in a blue package, totally synthetic clear liquid polish that works a treat on plastic, rubber and the soft top. I do all my plastics, including the interior. The first one or two applications will soak in, then it stays for ages. Does not leave it sticky and attracting dust like Amourall etc, but does make it water proof and nice and black - the mud just hoses straight off. Also works just as well on the paint (as it was originally designed for!)
