http://www.adelaidejeepclub.com/calendar.htm Long weekend trip to central Flinders Ranges near Warren & Buckaringa Gorges NW of Quorn. Cost is $45 per vehicle for the weekend and $10/person per night collected by trip leader. (kids free) No pets as working sheep property. Depart Adelaide early Saturday morning 8 am, from assembly point at Carisbrook Park, opposite the Old Spot Hotel, Main North Road, Salisbury Park, just north of the pedestrian bridge erected over Main North Road on the north bound track. Look for a service road adjacent to the Caltex service station. Stop at Quorn to refuel and have a short break Arrive at Argadells for lunch Saturday. Set up camp at campsite and prepare for afternoon drive. This trip involves fully self-contained bush camping (long drop toilet) unless individual arrangements are made for caravan site at the Argadells Homestead. New toilet and showers ($2.50) on the property). Camp site is at Cockroach Valley -the name doesn’t do it justice! Orientation drive of property Saturday afternoon to Mt Arden. Sunday Convoy along ridge top and various northern vantage points. Optional short drives if time permits late afternoon. Monday pack up & return to Adelaide. |
hey i would have loved to have joined you guys only if it was not the long weekend as its a 7 day week for me. But be sure to come in and say hi on your way through i manage the Qourn hotel and bottle shop so come in and say hi.

Just got back from the Argadells. Had a great weekend. Was sub zero in the overnight but we all had great drives in the daytime. Left Friday arvo and arrived about 430 pm. Got out both sat and sunday track driving. Will post some pics later. Got to say that the AJC guys that came along were great company. Pushed us to our limits, off road driving that is, at times but we all had fun.
