Navigation Upgrade

Hey guys. I have a 2014 Grand Cherokee Diesel Laredo 4x4 through work and want to see if I get the navigation function flashed to my system through a dealer. Obviously willing to pay for it - but not sure if it's possible?

Interesting question.

Hutch- Jeep GC blackhawk 2014.

The 2014 WK Grand Cherokee's are a fantastic vehicle, hands down the most capable in it's class.

I've learnt they they are very pedantic when it comes to changing things. We fitted a disc player to a Laredo that didn't leave the factory with it and it actually just refused to work!

If it has GPS from the factory it maybe possible but if it doesn't you can't even upgrade to a nav unit at the dealership.

Is it not a different head unit to the sat nav one? It usually is in the Jeeps in which case it's not just a flash that's needed.

This may help even though the US radios are different Versions.

I've actually asked this question of my dealer before (To the salesperson who sold it to me) and he said it couldn't be done.

Whether it is physically possible or not is another question. There is a GPS component to the Nav unit which might be the other part of the equation that is required. Either way, I would be very interested to hear if Nav could be retro-fitted. I have thought about using the Lockpick C-8 in order to be able to load up my own Nav software, but I might wait until warranty has expired.

Well a couple of dealers came back with a price.... To replace the head unit. And wait for it, a range of prices from $4k to $7k!!!

Oh well. Was a good idea at the time...
