Axle seal again?!

When I first bought my jeep I had to replace axle seal because oil was leaking into my rear brakes. It's only been about 5 months and it's leaking again.. I've hear this is a common problem but I haven't even driven it much and it's leaking. Could there be something causing it to bugger out so fast?

Much appreciated

If you installed a different diff cover that allows you to put more oil in, the gear oil will fling into the breather tube off the axle and cause it to act like a pump. Hence it will suck in on the axle seal and cause it to fail. Check breather tube to see if there is oil coming out of there as well. it's up where your petrol filler is.

Check the axle where the seal meets for any grooving or wear, if so u might need a Speedi Sleev on it

Also check the axle isn't bent,

There has been heaps of oil coming out of the breather tube. I'm fairly certain is has had another diff cover on it because there is no drain plug on the diff or the cover and I think the old cover had the drain plug on it. So do I replace the seal then instead of filing the diff to the filler hole of the diff cover I find out the recommended amount of oil needed and just put that in?

I will check the axle isn't bent, but I had them out when I did the seals last time to check them and they seemed fine
