Warranty and first service Our new KL was delivered to the dealership in Nov 2014 and we bought it in July 15. As the vehicle was delivered with fluids already in engine transmission etc etc wouldn't this mean that the warranty was already at risk or void because the oil is aleeady past its use by date? If I wait until we have owned the vehicle 6 months that would mean the oil was 11 months old! Any thoughts?

I just moved your thread here as you posted it in the WK Grand forum, and you are talking about a KL Cherokee

It's a similar story for most cars. Mine was built in Jan, and I took ownership in May, 1st service was November. So the first oil change was 4 months late based on when it was built and fluids added. But I would have thought the fluids will be fine after 10 months, since it isn't doing many kms while being delivered.
If the car you bought was registered in Nov 2014 by the dealer before selling it in July, they should have done the first service on it before they sold it to you.... I would have thought. |
Thanks for moving post.
Makes no sense that customers are subject to the time rule but dealers aren't. |
What is your oil life reading on the EVIC?
