2015 JK Unlimited CRD Auto gear changes! Hi All
Had my JKU Auto CRD for a couple of months, mostly all good but still getting used to the strange on road gear ratios of the auto. It seems to be 3rd gear that really likes to hold on, especially when coming out of a roundabout, or slowing down to turn at an intersection. Even though the torque is there to keep the car moving in 3rd gear, it can feel quite weird as the tacho is just under 1500rpm, which seems quite low for 3rd gear. I have to give the loud pedal a good shove to get it to kick down to 2nd. I do use the manual mode which from 3rd to 2nd just to keep it less dramatic. Just want to know if this is normal. Thanks in advance Rickman :) |
It's not the gear box, it's the lazy throttle response. You will get used to punching the loud peddle and not just gradually pushing it. Early on we thought there was something wrong as it seemed really gutless until we realized you need to force the fly by wire throttle to respond.

Ok That's sort of good! One more thing on the list to get used to I suppose.
Haven't had the chance to get off road yet, but would you know if the pedal is less sensitive when low range is selected? I know some makes have this feature. |
My diesel did the same sluggish had to put a lot of input on the pedal.
Got the Ecu flashed Shit what a huge difference it makes. Now just need to touch the pedal and it goes. |
Where did u get the ecu done?

Most of us wouldn't touch a tune unless it was done by Murchison products
