Newby from South Africa

Hi Everybody. Don't know if this is the right place to introduce myself. But if not Sorry about that.

My Name is M******** I am from Sabie in South Africa. I work in the Forestry sector.

My Vehicle: Jeep XJ 2.5 V.M diesel
I love my machine. It spends around 60% a day off road in the mountains.
Parts in South Africa are hard to come by There are 1 or 2 people that are stripping old Jeeps and then partly parts are then available.

What I still want to do to my Jeep.
1. Lift kit. Obvious for my work
2. Roof Rack - Will have to do custom built
3. Better lighting or upgrade of lights - stock not good
4. suspension upgrades.

Why the diesel. I love everything about this vehicle. It is extremely good off road. Can handle the bad roads and after 250000km it still is in good shape
I love the rattle with start up. The faint whistle of the Turbo when the window is down. The rugged look. In my mind a proper bush wacker!!!

Anyway thank you for the forum. The most informative for the lost jeeps of our time!

Welcome ! We have a few from SA with XJ diesels on here.
parts are a problem in Australia as well. Many of us do a lot of shopping electronically in the EU. The diesel parts sticky should help you.
All the best with your jeep & please feel free to ask away on the XJ what have I done today thread.
