Help with error codes

Hi
Driving home on Friday and the jeep started to run like it was a 4 cylinder and then gave up altogether, when we parked it up where we rolled I tried to start it but was not firing so I left it caught a cab home and got the trusty x-trail to pick kids up. Went back about an hour later and still no go left it and towed it home Saturday arvo took batt terminal off for about an hour hoping computer might say yes when reconnected but computer said nooo.
Then remembered the key dance from here and I am getting p0205,p0206 the manual says injectors output driver not responding, google answers say start swapping injectors and work back to the PCM.
Any other solutions from the people who know jeeps.

Hard to know if you cleared the codes beforehand. Check the tps sensor. Did the MIL come on when it happened?

cleared error codes eh ? mmmm injectors not responding ? there is a tool that comes in a kit where you can pull off the injector wire and plug it in , and it tests the wiring and injector (they look like a globe) apart that they can be very expensive, maybe MUCK in the system , try looking on the drivers side for the bleeder , and be careful and press on it (looks like a tyre valve) be careful though not good getting a face full of fuel , see if there is any pressure in it , check the battery connectors as well , is the engine winding over well ? or is it reluctant ? check fuel relay , check filter and pump .

NOTE : that is on a 6 cyl one though .

Thanks for the replies,
Yes the MIL did come on but I didn't see at first only after I wrestled the beast off the road and into a parking area(geez the steering is hard without power).
Yes the engine starts but runs rough like only 4 or 5 cylinders firing and smells like straight fuel from exhaust so I turned it off.

Checked to see which plugs were firing no change in engine when I disconnected 2, 4, 1, 3, 5 and left disconnected whilst checking stalled when I disconnected 7 turned ignition off. 6 and 8 needed some effort to disconnect but when I got them and tried again noticed a change but didn't stall the engine like 7.
