Matey, plenty of good spots to mount a uhf.

The KJ I just bought had it mounted on the drivers side of the centre console, up close to the dash, I dont actually like it there, I had previously mounted my unit inside the lower panel under the steering wheeel, but that was with a GME unit that has all the controls on the handset itself, so no need to have the box out anywhere.

I was looking at the side of the consol also, but not keen on there. I have a brake controller next to the lighter in that tray. Perhaps I should look at a remote head unit. I currently have a GME that has the controls on the unit itself.

Mounted mine beside the tunnel on the drivers side.
Its bit of an old school big fella but I find it's good to rest my leg on. Also it the easiest spot to mount!

If you are looking to find a spot to thread the aerial co ax through there is an oval shaped grommet down under the brake fluid res that I used.
