TJM PACE Remote Reservoir strut recalled
Wes Whitworth, 3 days ago 0 1 min 84

Hot off the press is the recall of the recently released TJM PACE Remote Reservoir strut. The ACCC recall states that only 38 sets were sold, in batch numbers 20BU-77 & 20BU-78. The main issue is “Under extreme conditions the bottom part of the shock absorber may hit the control arm of the vehicle. This may cause the piston rod inside the shock absorber to break.”

The hazard defined in the recall includes the steering of the vehicle being affected should the shock break, which in turn poses an accident risk. TJM are set to be contacting affected owners and organising for the front suspension components to be temporarily replaced with a different product. Once the issue with the TJM PACE Remote Reservoir strut has been rectified, new assemblies will be fitted to the impacted vehicles.

We can only assume that “extreme conditions” includes jumping a fully laden dual cab ute over sand hills, which, should go without saying, don’t do that – you’re gonna have a bad time.

Should you have one of these shock assemblies fitted to your 4X4, you can contact TJM directly here to have the repairs carried out.
