OEM Michelin Tyres Performance

Hello team.

I got a fresh set of 18 inch OEM Michelins on by WK. Now, I am planning a trip to Fraser Island and kinda questioning if this set will do allright in the sand. I am not planning to challenge myself or the car, but let say just careful navigating around the island.
I got front and rear hooks and will be carrying recovery gear.

Should I get my self concerned with the more off road oriented set of tyres or the Michelins will do fine?

Thanks

Drop pressures and they will be fine on sand mate.

I have used mud tyres in the soft sand at Fraser no problems even towing a camper trailer and that was a 4WD with less clearance and power. If you get stuck let more air out.

Last Thursday I changed my OEM 265/60R18's Michelins (done66K)for a set of
Coopers SRX's. I'm 90% driving on the Hard Top but times i've taken the Laredo on sand I had no issues with the Michelins. I've done the Point Peron trip (Sharkbay) and onto the beach at Herald Bight with no issues.

You can drive on sand with bald tyres, but as mentioned let the pressure down to around 20PSI and put trans into "sand" mode high and you'll be fine. I've found the Jeep one of the best vehicles for sand driving. the 8spd trans makes it so easy.
Enjoy!

Great choice. Have done just over 85K on mine and have at least 10K left.
Awesome on road tyre. Quiet and heaps of grip on both wet and dry roads.

Cheers, Craig
