Blown 3.8l JK

Hi All,

I've had my 3.8l JK out of action for over a year now, some idiot (myself) forgot to check if the plug was still in on the volant air box before a river crossing and broke a rod.
I had decided to go down the conversion route and get a 6.6l Duramax V8 installed at Australian Diesel Creations or Australian Duramax Conversions not sure what he calls it now, long story short I paid a deposit and the guy moved the business and stole my car and my money, the police recovered my car after talking to about 10 different officers finally one helped me get it back but the money is gone.

Ok so that's the back story.

So now for my real question, is it worth trying to have my engine reconditioned or better off swapping it for a used one?

Also is it possible to use a Chrysler Voyager engine?

Cheers in advance, Ethan.
