I jerry rigged a claw on a slide hammer, made the job much easier for me.

Is there anything that needs to be done to pull it out, clips etc or can I just tap it out with a pry bar

Not really, the same as any front wheel drive.
Remove the hub and disk assy and disconnect the strut fork. may need to release the lower ball joint so you have enough room to slide the shaft out of the fork.

Basically remove anything that may obstruct the shaft removal.
