Newbie Here 2014 WK2 EcoDiesel

Hey Everyone, I just bought a Jeep.
I got a MY2014 Overland Diesel.
It's been a great car for the first month I've owned it.

Have a Question: The OBD2 Power boxes for sale on Ebay claim an increase of 25 % Power and fuel economy of 15%. Is this total rubbish, or has anyone tried them out ?

Also, which brand of OBD2 Scanner works the best with the WK2 ??

Thanks Heaps

Robbo:o:)

OBD2 power boxes ................ Snake oil rubbish.

If you want a scanner for codes then "Alpha OBD" https://www.alfaobd.com/ it works unlike many that claim they do but only read the generic codes.

For more info on your WK2 go to this thread; http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...play.php?f=284

Get yourself an idrive throttle controller, these make a hell of a diference to how the GC takes off.

U5 seems to be the best all round setting. it eliminates the hesitancy at take off.

Yep, throttle controller is the best, however my 2012 diesel didnt have an issue before it, but the throttle controller makes it a rocket.
Don't get the power box bullshit, all it does is raise the pressure in the fuel rail

Thanks

Thanks Everyone, I didn't bother with the OBD Power chip thing, after the warnings in here.

Got an OBDII bluetooth adapter and setup the Torque Pro app.
I've found it pretty handy and interesting being able to see all the sensor parameters.

I'm really enjoying the Jeep but have clocked up 10,000km's pretty quickly.

It's now getting close to the 100k mark, so I'm looking into Auto trans fluid change and cooling system fluid change.

Got a quote for $550, using Kendall ATF fluid, LV full synthetic at a local transmission specialist.
Has anyone had any experience with using this fluid ?
The ZF 8HP is listed as compatible, so I assume it will be fine.

Cheers

The price is certainly reasonable, I have never heard of Kendal ATF fluid actually, so will have to have a lookie, normal stuff for the ZF8's is Lifegard 6/8 or Penrite BMV...
Make sure they use the pan which has the deeper tray its for the Grands, Landys etc, I don't have numbers though...

I see they make Motorcraft for Ford and some others, rumour is Mopar is either Penzoil or Mobil but I think some get confused by the drums they see at dealers, they use one brand for all their vehicles mostly.....
Had a squiz at Kendall but their recommended oil for vehicle type doesn't match up very well, especially with the 8 speeder even the engine oil listed was a 15w40 so may pass besides Penrite is easier to source.
