WK2 Ecodiesel CEL P02E1

Hello Team,

Mine is a MY15 Diesel Laredo 129K on the clock.

CEL lit up and getting the P02E1 code (Diesel Intake Air Flow Control Performance). Cleaned MAF/EGR sensors without any luck. The engine seems to stop at the wrong position (advanced) and turns back into position when turning off. Used to stop without any kind of vibrations before this problem. Fuel econome seems to be affected too.

Does anyone know what the issue is? Some sensor needs to be cleaned? Or warning for a bigger issue?

Thanks in advance,

Kaps

Sounds like your crank posistion sensor may be failing.Their is a world wide recall
re this problem Go to FCA Australias site Recall number is REC 0011644

this gives a description and I think since you have cleaned the MAP and MAF sensors I would be looking at the Throttle Body, the bit that the lower charge air hose connects to on the inlet manifold, it regulates air flow and has a air temp sensor on the side (I think it is), it may be very oily and cruddy, if the valve has restriction or not closing properly your could be getting a bit of sluggish stop and starting... worth a look anyway before heading to what i think will be the a lot of thoughts on EGR fault...

What brand of air filter and how long since replaced ???
Sensors need to be given a good flushing with sensor cleaner as well, a real good drowning and allowed to dry before refitting.

If you have a look here there's a schematic of the throttle body and parts.

This recall was done via a software upgrade last year. Will check with the dealership today

Getting this checked. Cleaned the temp sensor. Removed the hose and checked inside. Looks pretty good. Cleaned with CRC throttle body cleaner.

The throttle/valve thgingy is in the open position when the engine is turned off. There is no way to see whether it closes properly (unless I start the engine while the hose is off). Probably not safe to do so?

How do I check the correct operation of the throttle?

Do you have a dongle/scan tool & have you tried clearing the code after cleaning the sensors?

Yes, cleared the code with the dongle/app. Comes back in a minute or so (CEL appears for the next engine start)
