I've got Rubicon rims on mine (same specs as Gladiator)

I bought a set of 2011 17" Wrangler wheels for my 2007 WH and they sat against my front wheel brake discs.
Don't use Wrangler wheels. They have more material inside to make them stronger I guess. The safe bet is to try one on the front before buying.

Yep I had a set of the wrangler rubicon wheels I was going to put on my WJ before I sold it, wouldn't clear the brakes on the front of the WH. Was only maybe 5mm in it though, thought about just filing down the inside of the wheel for the clearance but figured that would be a good way to void your insurance lol.
