Can i install smaller injectors in my WK2 3.6 ?

Hi folks

just curious as to whether or not we can install smaller fuel injectors in the 3.6 V6 to make it run a bit leaner, and not do damage.

Getting all four of the O2 sensors replaces on the 19/12 with new bosh
from rock auto.

need to get it running a bit less thirsty as i just started doing a new job doing delivery in it, (subcontract driver)
cant afford a replacement it with a more economical Vehicle just yet so I'm hoping I can get it a bit more fuel efficient and reduce the fuel consumption.

currently getting about 15Ltr/100Km city running,
would like to get it closer to 10Ltr/100Km city running if possible.

P.S hope you all have a fantastic Xmas and new year.

:)

No a remap/tune would be the only way as fuel amount is governed by the programme unlike old injectors which could be adjusted. at least Im pretty sure thats it... Other things other than lighter foot, is increase tyre pressure, if the petrol is anything like my diesel the tyre pressure on the plate is about 5 psi too low... Go to a fuel with more bang if your running a 91 go higher, I once did a comparo and found the lower fuel being cheaper I burnt more than if I used a higher one, in the end it worked out that $$$/100km was about the same if I used the cheaper 91 or the higher 98.....

If you could find an injector that fitted that had smaller orifices it would not change the fuel use because it operates closed loop that is the ecu will change the injector time interval based on the O2 signal to correct the air fuel ratio. Smaller injectors would limit max power because that is when the system operates in open loop. It would likely bring on the ‘money’ light as the ecu would see the longer time pulse as out of normal range.
