Tents

hoos got what.. ?

I am looking at getting one of those canvas popup jobies.
I have a colman 3 man dome tent, and to be quite honest the swag is more user frindley when im on me own. I just dont like sharing the swag with the local critters.
the dome tent has/does rain inside , especially when its colder.
And is imposible to set up when its raining or windy.

I was looking at the pop up tents with the center pole. canvas. but they are quite heavy. 16kg dending on the model. a bit pricey.

I've got one of dem $250 Ray's dome tents. Was very tempted to get an Oztent at the 4WD & Camping show last year though (http://www.oztent.com.au) Bit pricey, but look pretty good and much easier to put up - especially on those days where you get to camp at 11pm after a long drive.

We have a Black Wolf Turbo 240 tent. We are very happy with it. The only negative to it is the packed size is a little larger than we would have liked. Goes up quick and pulls down quick which is what we like. I reckon without rushing it takes 10 mins to completely put it up and 10 mins to pull it down, that includes having it packed in the bag ready to go in the car.

Someone we camp with regularly has a centre pole tent (I dont know what brand) and they are very happy with that. It is also fast to put up and pull down. The only real negative I can see with it is the centre pole being in the way.

Cheers
Brad

I have the Micro fast MI4, very happy with it, really quick to set up (undo catches and stand back!) huge, plenty of room- external frame, and takes up bugger all space (approx 60cm around and virtually flat.

.....and camo- looks cool.....

I have a Freedom Tent (Minit Camper 501 2.6m x 2.6m)
it is worth every cent, nothing gets in, easy to set up and only cost $500 centre pole can be replaced with an internal frame
Cheap tents cost you more in the long run when you crack it with them and then buy a real tent
