Santa will have a new Jeep sleigh this year.

Seeing Jeeps can go anywhere, do anything, surmount any difficulty, jump from place to place and time to time.

Then the logical replacement for the Santa sleigh is a Jeep!

Ozjeeper, mate, turn around and take a look at the calendar on the wall..its only May!!

Yeah, but Santa will need to buy it now...

First he'll spend ages looking for the right Jeep. That can take months
Then he'll park it in the garage, strip it, remove the rust & respray. It'll then sit in pieces for a few more months
Eventually Mrs Santa will let him spend some cash on it. He'll go out & order a 350 Chev & some big tyres. As he starts to put it together, he'll find 20 things that need fixing but will cost too much. Back into the garage for a couple of months.

It's now October. Santa starts spending more weekends working on it. He's managed to source some cheap parts from the US, and he's waiting patiently for them to be shipped over.

November rolls around & Santa's Jeep doesnt have a tub. The old rusted body is too far gone. After promising to spend all of next year working on Mrs Santa's decking & garden, he gets the approval for a galvanised tub.

Early December: Electrics. Considering that Santas previous vehicle was powered by hay, he's having some real trouble with wiring. Calling in a couple of buddies, he gets the wiring sorted out eventually. Cost - Fiiiiiive golden kegs of beer!

Mid December - Panic time. Anything that can be bolted on is bolted on. The rest is welded. He then realises that he forgot the transfer case mounts. Grinder comes out, the rest is sorted.

23rd December - The Jeep still has no interior! The old sleigh is chopped to pieces in a desperate attempt to dodgy up some seats. A discarded hubcap becomes a steering wheel, and a gearstick is fabbed up from an old broomstick. Santa's beard is black from welding for 9 hours straight.

It's done! No time for testing... all should be fine.

24th December - Not a creature is stirring, except for Santa slamming the engine bay with a mallet. He made it half a block before the engine died, the radiator blew & the rear shock mounts spiked up through the tub. Mrs Santa picks him up in her sleigh and they drop the presents off in time.

He then spends the next year glaring at the heap of rusted crap sitting in the garage, telling himself he'll fix it in time for next Christmas

The end **)

LOL Jeff - think this will be next Christmas Eve's bedtime story for the lad.
