Theres a couple of screws under the little coin tray thingo on the dash you have to take out if its anything like my 04 TJ.

The tricky part is the bolt in behind the unit. You will need to take out the top of the dash (where the defrost slots are) just pull on it lightly it's held in with clips. Then you can unscrew 2 screws on top of the dash (right by the windscreen) that will loosen the dash covering the radio, air-con, etc., the rest are clips. Start at the bottom and pull slowly the first time you do this it will be tight. Now you will need to find a metal rod that is like a wish bone. It is right tight by the windscreen on top of the dash. You will see a bolt on the driver side and one on the passenger side. Undo the bolts. The rod goes to the back of the factory stereo. From there you need to take out the screws holding the stereo in place. Then pull out the stereo to the point where you can reach behind it and undo the bolt that is attached to the wishbone rod. Not hard just tricky.

dont forget, if it's a standard size din unit that's going in, you will need to get a fascia surround from the likes of a car audio shop or super cheap etc.
