Tyre Carrier for WH

1 Attachment(s)
I'm interested in grabbing an auxillary petrol tank for my WH meaning I'll need to relocate the spare tyre.

Has anyone used this tyre carrier which mounts in the tow bar hitch?? ... http://www.tiregate.com/hg.shtml

Seems like it would be very cost effective compared to having a rear carrier custom made. On the downside you'll probably have to turn off the reversing sensors and it may stick out a fair way....Cheers

IMHO- They looks so crap, cheap and nasty i would sooner have the spare straped to the bonnet, Get a roof rack or a rear bar made up, that is what id do....

I was contemplating a custom rear bar when I had the WH and was going to contact custom 4x4 fab here in Brissy. For the first one it will be a couple of Grand but someone needs to take the dive in and get it done for the greater good. I craked the rear bumper offroad and its around $2500 for a new one through insurance so that might be the way to go and offer insurance a cheaper alternative that wont get damaged again.

Just my 2c worth on the matter.

Tyre Carrier for WH

This is the info on the Tyre carrier I looked at!

These are some pictures from the last vehicle that we did, I hope these are good enough for you. That wheel carrier was colour coded to the paint specifications of that vehicle we would need the vehicle for at least a week to ensure that we can get the tank and the carrier done.

The tank that takes up the spare wheel position would be a pump transfer system and have a additional 8 bar gas gauge setup we use these gauge cause they a small unit that are easily put in a handy location without harsh drilling into the dash of the vehicle. The tank size would be at least 80 ltr which would be double the capacity of what you have already.

I am aware that you are a previous customer of ours and I would like to give you the best pricing for you.

Custom Aux Fuel Tank $1680.00

Custom Strongarm Wheel Carrier ( Colour Coded ) $2850.00

If you would like anymore info on our carriers and tanks there is lots more info on our website ( www.kn4wd.com )

That looks like crap I would sooner put them on the roof like a club member did with his WH.

It looks like 2 frying pans on a big A.se and that's being nice.

These look heaps better then the 1st one... At least you get some rear protection from these too... JamesJo i just read the Ad in Sat paper... Is that who u work for Kn4wd....... They seem to be good mate.... They actualy make custom tanks ect here in Perth or do they use LRA tanks??????

For my next grand if you can make up a replacement tank for the OEM one we will talk cause i like having the twin tanks but the LRA one interfers with the rear control arms on the Clayton kit so that would be good to know..
