Camping, Accommodation, etc

We're getting a few questions about camping and accommodation etc, so I wanted to start a separate hread now that we have our own area on AusJeep for the Jambo.

Lardner Park is awesome and although we expect some people will have a few tents on what the call a single site, every site has power.

Yes, every site has power.

...of course just like every caravan park or powered camp site now in ustralia (or at least most of them), any devices or extension leads plugs into the power needs to be tested and tagged.

It will be your best option to do your "test'n'tag" prior to coming to the Jambo, however we are already putting things in place so that people will be able to get their leads etc tested and tagged onsite for a nominal fee (and have plugs replaced etc if necessary).

Camping at Lardner Park is included in your Jambo registration fee, however for those that don't want to camp, or organise a caravan or camper trailer, and would prefer to stay offsite, we are investigating other local options.

For those wanting to get a head start, here is a link for options in Warragul:

Are interstaters (and others) allowed to arrive and camp at Lardner Park the day before on the 29th so we are ready for the days events on the 30th??

Never heard of the 'testntag' thing here in NSW. I'll just be bringing my 15amp caravan lead and RCD powerboard. I've travelled all over Australia and never been asked to pay a fee to get a lead checked. Is this just a rort?

It is common practice on all worksites in NSW for at least the last 10 years or more. Have a look in the members section of SJC site I will post something up there regauding testing.

Hunno.

you guys are best to comply with the conditions of entry, it may be a requirement of the park's management

BDASH, is anyone going to respond to my question in the other jambo thread in relation to multiple vehicles attending jambo?

Most caravan parks now require tagged 15amp leads. As an electrical test and tagged (nearly 3 years) I never cease to be amazed what people use and consider "safe". I will have my tagging equipment at the Jambo and will tag at minimal cost, to be donated back to the jambo. All leads will be inspected before testing, so it might be a good idea to bring a new lead with you. I think that during discussions with Lardner Park, they only require 10 amp as the power hats won't take the larger earth pin of a 15amp lead.
This will all be explained in the Jambo info following registration.
