Aldi 4WD Recovery Kit
 

Only recently purchased a Jk Wrangler and am going to join a Jeep club and do some offroading. Nothing serious just yet, will be leaving it stock.

Saw this kit advertised in Aldi catalogue. Don't usually buy their stuff.

What do people think:

With recovery gear do not go CHEAP.

Think, was it worth that $3 chinese shackle failing and putting a shiny new hole in your Jeep/daughter/you?

Agreed that you get what you pay for, and stay away from that Aldi Winch.

Join your local Jeep club and get some advice from them. BTW the Melbourne Jeep Owners Club is holding the National Jeep Jamboree at the end of September, an excellent event to learn about all things Jeep.

Join MJOC they will steer you in the right direction theyre a nice bunch of blokes, do a search on here for clubs/safety junk blah blah.

As much as it pains me to say this - just go to ARB or TJM or Opposite Lock to get your recovery equipment. Yes its expensive but you can't actually go wrong with any of these big name brands.

But before you buy anything make sure you familiarise yourself with what recovery points are on your JK (more to the point, what isn't on it). Few vehicles in australia come properly prepared for snatch strap recovery due to various laws and as a result aftermarket stuff is usually required.

If you have a cheap life buy cheap safety gear....
