Thanks for the response- makes sense now I think about it. Some Kj's have extra lights on the roof, maybe that's what the wires are for?

I've got a 3.7l kj and it's doing similar figures to you. The console on the roof shows 16.6mpg on country roads going easy...so about 17l per 100km.
Just did heads and had all the valves reseated...

Seems the overflow water bottle was cracked from the blown head and I was losing a lot of fluid.
Something to know if you get stuck with a cracked bottle, you can heat weld the cracks...
