$2000 to Replace Ball Joints ?

Just been quoted in excess of $2000 AUD to replace upper & lower ball joints and drag links. Is this about right ? Mechanic says it will be 7-8hrs work, and is charging me $1100 for parts.....

If you're driving on sand dunes don't go higher than 33". 35s are so big there's just no challenge. I had 31.5" tyres on my TJ in Oman and that size was perfect - climbed the dunes well but not so...
