I fitted a 10k resistor in series to the BTS, worked just like I said above, this raised the charge voltage to 14.2V from approx 13.7V.

I haven't tested this yet on car but as stated the sensor is NTC, to acheive a higher charge voltage is acheived at lower temps so putting a resistor in series and NOT parallel IS the way to acheive...
