For reference, a 255/70r18 tyre which is the same diameter as a 275/65r18 tyre does fit in the spare wheel well.

Also to the above poster, a 265/65r18 fits in there fine.

It's not the charging of the battery that puts the extra load on the battery.

A fresh battery easily supplies the extra amps that the steering etc asks for.

An old battery won't be able to help...

Every blown alternator i've seen has been on an old battery.

Could be coincidence, but it checks out.

I bought it from Rockauto, that price you received is much cheaper than the one I got quoted.

Most times on a 2015+ 3.6 the cause is the oil filter housing being over tightened.

3.0 diesel is a better all round motor than the 3.6 (I have both in my garage right now) but the 5.7 is better again at everything other than towing a 3 tonne caravan.

It's never been too much of an issue for me personally, where my GC is parked I can't open the rear fully so its always used manually.

275/65r18 was the best size for off road tyres but I found it challenging to get highway tyres in that size. Only a couple of options and not the ones I wanted.
