Thanks for the comments and PMs sure gives me food for thought, the trailer space is about 5 ft 6 inch wide and 6 ft long,fully carpeted out so plenty of area to fill. As the rear tailgate is not across the whole back I can put a row of so 3 crates each side about 12 inchs wide and they will stay put and bigger boxs in the middle, even if some of the side boxes remained empty they would work a treat. I might even tie the two inner boxes together to make it easier to pull out or make a large slide to put them all on, we will see.
