quite trendy. You might be able to look into/fit low voltage DC lighting which only requires a battery or two to be replaced to get fancy light shows happening. 8 double A batteries will create 12v which is usually sufficient to run things like LED, cold cathode tubes etc which are available in a variety of colours which could potentially provide the lighting some people would be looking for - if only for a couple of hours but hey. Only thinking smaller batteries which are nice and easy to find at the shops I guess.
Just isn't as warm as a normal incandescent light bulb but may very well be situations where getting 240v to the assembly would be out of the question.
