Had the exhaust checked yesterday, nothing was found to be wrong other then a small hole drilled into the muffler for drainage. I got them to weld it up and for whatever reason I haven't had the smell since and the exhaust is quieter. Tailgate seal maybe a little ify though.

Might be that without your cabin fan on the air is being drawn backwards through the fan inlet from your tailgate seal (assuming no windows open)?
