I had the same thing with my MT ATZ 4-Rib after a high country trip. Easy trails, though steep, but no hard tracks. Aired down to about 24psi, which would have been fine with the smaller 245/75/17's but with the 285/70/17's it obviously wasn't low enough. 24psi would probably be low enough for fast dirt but for normal slower speed trails I drop down to 20psi straight away, and would then go lower once the going got tough.
