The axle tubes actually distort slightly ( they go oval in spots ) when the mounts are welded on at initial manufacture.
The first Poly sleeves "fitted" to RHD axles actually wouldn't go in, on LHD they were fine, but the different weld pattern on the RHD version required them to be slightly smaller diameter.
Just another example of the learning curve when using parts originally designed for LHD.
