I have had the scorpion atr's and I really recommend those as well. More expensive than the geolanders, but really quiet and long wearing. They are excellent in sand and on the road. They are soft and ride well too. No good for mud or thick rocks but do alright by most counts. Mine required almost no weight to balance. Think I payed 320 a tyre. Was on a swb cruiser.
Not sure about the cupping issue and becoming loud. Mine have 40kms on them and are still in really good order. Seriously considering them in 285/70/17 instead of mickeys for my next set
