The OP was asking about the immobiliser functionality and how to disable, however he also has a Cruise light and no controls ... changed steering wheel maybe?

If the OP is having issues with his immobiliser already I wonder if it won't be long before it shuts down altogether. I would seriously be looking at a early 96 ECU without an immobiliser built in or one that hasn't had the function turned on, (I believe some pre updates had the choice). If it has codes then they can be deleted.
