I noticed that the body behind the rear tyre has a fair bit of old mud caked onto it. Very hard to see. I had to lie down on my back to get a good look. Spent ages pressure washing it all off. I noticed that the steel had barely any paint left on it. I am assuming this is a combination of not a great paint job in the first place and the tyres continually flicking rocks up. I painted it with a couple of coats of really good quality kbs rust kill. For anyone that is thinking about keeping their jk for a while I would recommend this. Would be an absolute pain to fix once it started rusting badly, it's hard enough to get a paint brush in there.
Also started work on some new brackets for mudflaps. Using flat bar of steel bolted to the chassis. Will be nice and strong. Will ad some pictures when I am finished
