When you say "barrel" I guess you mean the LPG style? These are good at providing warm air...but they tend to chew through the LPG and that just gets $$$$.
I've used the patio heaters ok, but even they go through the LPG bottles.
When I redo my shed at home I plan to fit a waste oil burner.
Would love to do it in the workshop, but need to figure out where I could run a flue.
