I have a TT in the rear of my TJ and love it.... traction on wet roads, especially out of roundabouts is astounding .... I have a selectable locker up front to compliment it off road.....
It will act as an open diff if you lift a wheel, but a little bit of handbrake will put some pressure back into it and drive to both wheels will follow.
The way I see it, a TT in the rear will give really good traction in 99% of situations.
A selectable locker will give you perfect traction 1% of the time..... the rest of the time it is open.
