I just drilled 'offset' holes on the roller fairlead to fit my ARB bar, fits like a glove now.
If I was going to swap out with rope then I would just remove the rollers and stick on an offset fairlead for the rope. You can then use longer mounting bolts and the bar is stock then without any modification.
