Most wheels have been hub-centric for years...the load is through the centre bored hole to the hub, the nuts/studs just secure the wheel.
Bore the Moab alloys out to suit the larger Ford hubs, and they are now no longer hub-centric for the Jeep.....all the load would then be on the studs.
Besides, the offset is so big on the JK wheels, if I didn't have the spacer/adapters, then I'd have to have bought a new wider axle - the tyres would have hit the trailer sides before they even got bolted up.
